Less clouds more FPS v1
Removes dynamic clouds and leaves the per-rendered ones. Increases performance.
Cfg line which removes dynamic clouds but leaves some pre-rendered ones. This is how it is done in KCD1. Benefits include increased fps, lower or eliminated banding in night sky, especially as it transitions to
morning sky. Clearer skies with stars always visible at night for easy
navigation in hardcore mode. This line does not necessarily make the game looks “worse”. Some may even prefer the appearance of the game with dynamic clouds disabled. I uploaded a few images for comparison. In the images, fps difference ranged from 5-10 fps but there are cases in game where the gains can be even higher.
To install:
– You can do it manually by extracting the file to your mods folder.
– Sometimes it will not load unless you have LessClouds_MoreFps line in
the bottom of your mod_order. the mod_order can be found in your mods
folder and will show you the list of mods by name. The lowest placed
names get prioritized. So pasting LessClouds_MoreFps will increase
chanced of it applying.
You can also apply it in game easily pressing tilde key ( ~ ) and opening console menu. Copy e_clouds=0 and
paste it into box using ctrl + v and press enter. Voila
Another option is pasting e_cloud = 0 in your user.cfg. Make sure to have +exec
user.cfg pasted on steam launch.
You access that by
– Open Steam → Library
– Right-click Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 → Properties
– Under Launch Options, add this exactly:
+exec user.cfg
If you do not have a user.cfg, create one by going to C:\Program Files
(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance2 then right click
and choose text document. Then name it user.cfg. After that, open it
with notepad and enter e_clouds=0 and save. Next time you launch the
game, you should be good.
