In the Service of the Guild – Progression and Silent Partner Fix v1.0
Fixes getting infinite generic investigations and missing the story investigations, including for Silent Partner in the LotF DLC.
REQUIRES DLC
– LEGACY OF THE FORGE
I’m also making a bug report, but it turns out you can miss the mission for the Silent Partner achievement. If you are trying to get it and have done 10+ investigations without seeing it, you probably missed it.
This mod changes it to make sure you’ve completed or failed the story investigations before you get endless generic investigations. It will not fix if you failed the mission previously, or if you killed either Eichner or Olbert.
It does not touch localization, so it should work fine for all languages. It should also be compatible with any other mod that isn’t trying to edit the DLC investigations.
Installation:
Make a save before installing, juuuust in case.
Drop it in your mods folder.
An example file path should look like this when you’re done:
…\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\okamoez_investigation_fix\Data\Data.pak
There are only supposed to be 2 generic investigations between each main investigations. So, 2 generics, then the alchemist, 2 more generics, then the dying bandit, then 2 more generics, and finally Silent Partner. Silent Partner also takes place partially at the big vineyard, so it can’t happen at the same time as part of Oratores since the Papal Legate is also there. So, you can get extra generic missions if you try to do an investigation during Oratores when you should be getting Silent Partner.
Additionally, once the game thinks you did the Silent Partner investigation, you will keep getting generic investigations from then on. The issue being, you can clearly end up in the ‘generics forever’ state without actually getting to try Silent
Partner.
I never figured out exactly how it happened, but did some testing and I was definitely in the ‘generics forever’ state without ever seeing the Silent Partner investigation. If you run into issues with this mod, feel free to post about it and I’ll try to take a look. Ideally though, this is something the devs will fix, removing the need for this mod.
