Inviting Hans
Talk to Hans at the Den to invite him to the forge. Both of you will teleport there.
Talk to him at the forge to initiate Divorce Era 2.0 and send him packing back to the Den.
I would only recommend installing this post-game, otherwise his altered schedule will probably break quests.
Hans’ forge schedule
Hans will:
Change clothes at Henry’s chest and sleep in Henry’s bed if you have anything above the basic bed. If you’re not a Hans romancer, please remember that sharing beds platonically was common in the medieval era! There’s nowhere else for him to sleep except the bench in the hall and he’s a nobleman, he’s getting in that nice bed whether you like it or not, just be glad he’s still letting you sleep in it too 🙂
Eat at the downstairs table and wash his face in the morning
Sit on benches around the forge
Sharpen a knife, repair a shoe
Go to the Hole in the Wall for a drink
Stand by the forge anvil for an hour (great time for you to forge!)
Hang out in the apprentice room
Greet you/chat with you like at the den
Play dice with you if you have Cerberry’s “Play Dice with Hans Capon” mod
Hans WON’T:
Do villager work like chopping wood, feeding animals etc
Do any forging work like Pushko/Standa
Compatibility
Replaces kutnohorsko scheduler.xml. If you use any other scheduler mods, you’ll have to manually merge this file.
Replaces kutnohorsko legacy of the forge bed layers. Replaces kutnohorsko/extractedlayerentityids.xml. Replaces kutnohorsko/waitinglinks.xml.
Replaces kutnohorsko/legacy_of_the_forge/jindruv_pozemek.xml Skald file.
Future game updates will definitely break all this stuff. Only use with 1.4.1.
I wouldn’t recommend changing furniture while Hans is using the bed. It seemed to work fine for me but who knows.
Not fully compatible with kotkripot’s inn mod currently, as Hans is too far from the Den for dialogue to be selected correctly. Should generally be compatible with other Hans mods.
Known issues
Hans will clip into some of the bed pillows etc or not be in a great position on the bed while sleeping. None of the beds are doubles so you guys will clip into each other a bit too. It’s very laborious to get positioning right on this stuff so it is what it is! If it’s super egregious post a screenshot and tell me what bed you’re using.
If you get into bed first, Hans will be blocked from using the bed and will stand over you all night judging you. I’ll try and fix this at some point!
Hans may greet you in the morning while he’s still in bed. He’s awake, his eyes are open, he’s just being a bit lazy by not getting up immediately!
I’ve done my best to make all beds/chests work but there are a lot of combinations. Let me know if I missed any.
I haven’t done long-term testing over many days with Hans being at the forge. If you find anything breaking over time, let me know.
Future stuff maybe
– Add more things for Hans to do around the city, like going to different taverns, going to the baths etc
– Make Hans comment on your forging while he’s standing at the forge
– Make the teleport a proper fast travel (no idea how to do this atm)
– Bring Hans’ horse along, if there’s somewhere to put it
– I would love to add a proper double bed, but this requires level editing and I’m not able to export the level. If you manage to add a bed, let me know and maybe we can work together.
No AI was used to create any part of this mod. All voice lines are re-used from existing lines.
