Take a seat at the table with a tavern guest – exchange a few words or drink to each other’s health. Put your charm to the test in the local tavern – and your reputation as well…
It’s raining outside, so you took shelter in the tavern? Frustrated that you can’t talk to anyone, even though the place is buzzing with chatter and laughter? That’s exactly what this mod is for!
Take a seat with anyone who’s got a tankard in front of them and strike up a conversation. Ask how they’re doing, listen to their story – or share a tale from your own adventures! Not in the mood for talking, just need to drown a hard day? Then simply raise a tankard together and toast to better times!
Mind your manners:
– Only start a conversation with someone who has a tankard in front of them 🍺
– You can’t just start talking to someone who’s drinking, eating, ordering, talking with someone else or about to leave. Wait for the right moment ⌛
– Stories can only be shared with generic NPCs – unless they happen to be in a bad mood because of you… 🗣
– Got a bad reputation? No wonder no one wants to talk to you in the tavern! 👿
Installation instructions:
– Download your preferred audio language file
– Unzip the zip into the Mods directory so that it contains a directory called 📁 TavernChat
Known issues:
– You cannot talk to NPCs sitting on the bench next to Henry.
– NPC sometimes have a double tankard during the toast.
– You cannot clink tankards with NPCs.
– NPCs around the table with whom there is no dialogue disappear during dialogue (game-wide bug).
– If conversation starts exactly when an NPC grabs their tankard, they keep holding it throughout the entire talk (game-wide bug).
– It is currently not possible to talk to women, except for Katherine.
Please, is there anyone who knows modding and can help me out?
– I can’t figure out how to properly use the Guest_CheersBeer animation, for example via animationAction and player_scheduler…
– How can I determine the player’s position relative to the guest around the table? (cheersFront, cheersCrossLeft, cheersCrossRight, cheersSide)
– How to reuse the tankard in the animation for the NPC? (Or hide it during the animation?)
– How can I make an NPC sitting on the side stay seated during a conversation and not stand up? (This also happens sometimes during gameplay.)
– How do I prevent Skald from deleting the AnimationPropCommand parameters?
– How can I detect sunny weather and distinguish an outdoor terrace from an interior?
