Arrow Arc – Ballistic Trajectory Prediction v2

A crosshair points where you look. The arrow does not. Arrow Arc draws the real parabola from the weapon’s own fire direction, then marks where it lands and how far. Bows, crossbows and hand cannons.

THE REAL CROSSHAIR
Raise a bow, crossbow or hand cannon and a dashed arc shows where the shot will actually land. An x marks the impact point, with the range beside it. The arc is traced from the weapon’s own fire direction, with gravity and the projectile’s flight speed taken into account, so that x is the true impact point, not an approximation.

Which download
Start with Arrow Arc. That is the whole mod — everything else is a tiny optional add-on, and they install alongside it, not instead of it.
– Line – Red / Green / Blue — colour of the trajectory line. At most one.
– Mark – Red / Green / Blue — colour of the x and the range. At most one.
– No Line / No Mark / No Distance — turn one part off. Stack these freely.
– Line – Custom / Mark – Custom — a commented template if you want an arbitrary RGB.

The two colour groups are independent, so a red line with a blue x is fine.

Updating from 1.0.0 — read this
1.0.0 shipped as three variants (Full / No distance / Mark only). Those are gone. All of them share the same modid as the new main file, so updating overwrites your variant in place and you will get everything drawn again. To get back what you had:
– Full → nothing to do
– No distance → also install No Distance
– Mark only → also install No Line and No Distance

Known limits
– A partial draw no longer shows a too-long line — the arc waits for the draw to settle. An unusually slow pull can still release it early through a 3-second fallback.
– Third person works, but expect the occasional stray line. With the camera behind you, a weapon merely held points much the same way the camera does, and script cannot tell that apart from real aiming.
– Standing close to someone else’s bow — on an NPC, on a rack, dropped on the ground — the line can occasionally latch onto that one instead of yours.
– Running with a crossbow or hand cannon can flash a short line as the weapon sweeps past your line of sight.
– Shots into water are wrong. Water has its own drag and gravity.
– The line stops at the first thing it meets, though thin objects are pierced in practice.

Console commands
Entirely optional — the mod is complete without them. If you launch the game with -devmode, aa_line, aa_mark and aa_dist switch the parts on and off for the current session. They do not write back, so a restart returns to your config. aa_toggle is a full off switch: with it off the mod does nothing at all. aa_overlays lists which add-on packs were picked up, if one seems to have no effect.

Think this mod is causing a problem?
You can turn it off without uninstalling. A .pak is an ordinary zip — open Mods\arrow_arc\Data\arrow_arc.pak with 7-Zip, edit Scripts/arrow_arc/config.lua, set enabled = false, save it back and restart. The mod then does nothing at all, which makes a clean A/B possible while everything stays installed.
